Postal, ecommerce, transportation expert
Glen Ford has worked for over 30 years in the postal, logistics and freight forwarding fields focused on building profitable businesses, great teams and developing long lasting relationships. Glen has worked in senior roles in leading multinational corporations in operations, purchasing, sales and product management and has lived in New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, United Kingdom and the United States of America. After 20 years in corporate companies, he pivoted to being an entrepreneur; founding several successful entities in the logistics space in the US, New Zealand and UK markets.
Starting out in the New Zealand Post graduate program he was fortunate to be exposed to working in every aspect of the business, from retail post shops, transportation, domestic mail centres and postal delivery management. He steadily moved up within the organization and was recruited to Transend (a NZ Post subsidiary) where he supported their global consulting efforts with the mission to redesign and enhance the national postal systems, based in South African and Spain. Swiss Post soon approached him to help set up a new and revolutionary system of offering shared transportation to postal administrations around the world. This led to a successful launch of the product and forging lasting, strong relationships with a large number of the Postal Administrations CEO’s and senior executives. Through the success of the program, Deutsche Post approached Glen to join their team to help set up a similar system and eventually was responsible for launching and heading up the Global Match business in the Americas. Due to its growth, Glen was also asked to take on senior roles in operational management and airline purchasing before his promotion to Vice President of Product Management for the $120m international product. In 2011 he moved to Belgium Post, as CEO Bpost International Americas where he managed all aspects of the business and grew revenue by 100%.
The lure of being an entrepreneur always simmering and when the unique timing to own and operate his own business became available, he took it. Glen co-founded GePS, Parcel Monkey USA, Navia USA and European Ecommerce Solutions over a 10-year period.
Jersey Post acquired a number of these companies in 2020 and Glen started his consulting career and since has supported FedEx Cross Border on sales and transportation strategy and the Ministry of Health New Zealand supporting the roll out of the COVID-19 Vaccination logistics. More recently he has helped courier companies in New Zealand and the UK on operational and sales strategy and other companies on international transportation solutions.
